Installing Integrated Reporting Services on Sharepoint 2013 in 7 easy steps

1. Install Reporting Services in SharePoint mode.

01 Install Sharepoint Add In

Get your SQL Server installation media, go to the New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation then select the following

Reporting Services – SharePoint
Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint Products
SQL Server Data Tools
Management Tools – Basic
Management Tools – Complete

continue with the defaults then when you reach the Reporting Services Configuration page just choose the Install Only, complete the process.

2. Register the Reporting Services Sharepoint Service

Run the SharePoint 2013 Management Shell as and administrator then run the following commands

Install-SPRSService
Install-SPRSServiceProxy

Run also the command below to start it

3. Start the Reporting Services Sharepoint Service

03 Start Service

Go to Central Server Administration -> Service Applications -> Manage services on server then start the SQL Server Reporting Services Service

4. Create the Reporting Services Service Application

04 Setup

Go to Central Server Administration -> Service Applications -> Manage service applications then click New.
Choose the SQL Server Reporting Services Service Application.

5. Configure the Reporting Services Service Application

Configure the Application with following
Name : The name you want to give your application in this instance we named it as Reporting Service
Application Pool : Create a new one to separate its process and name it as ReportingServiceAppPool, choose also a separate account. You might need to register a new one.
Database Server : Database server you want to put your data
Database Name : The name you want to give it, I left the default values
Database Authentication : Choose the recommended method
Then don’t forget to associate it to your SharePoint instance by Ticking the SharePoint- 80

6. Verify instance installation

At this stage you will have the Service installed

Click on it to manage its settings

7. Activate Report Server Integration Feature and Power View Integration Feature

08 Activate Feature 01

Go to your Sharepoint Site then to the site settings

Choose Site collection feature

08 Activate Feature 02

Activate the Report Server Integration Feature and Power View Integration Feature
